To provide the best experience we possibly can, our office was designed for patient comfort. You can enjoy Starbuck’s coffee, bottled water, or juice in our lobby. Before treatment, we invite you to brush your teeth and freshen up. During treatment, we gladly provide movies or music for your pleasure. And if you need pillows or a blanket to make you comfy, just ask. After your appointment, you can wash your face with a nice, warm towel and moisturize your lips with complimentary lip balm before you leave our office.
For comfort during dental procedures, Dr. Nordhus uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral conscious sedation upon request. Oral sedation involves administering nitrous oxide in combination with an oral sedative. This produces a deep state of relaxation in the patient, which alleviates anxiety, stress, and fear. Sedation dentistry can be used to allow a patient to undergo long procedures in a single visit, as well. When necessary, Dr. Nordhus works with a nurse anesthetist to provide IV sedation (intravenous).
