Byron J. Nordhus, DDS
A native of Kansas, Dr Nordhus earned his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Education from Kansas State University in 1986. After farming for six years, he returned to school and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In addition, he completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency.
Dr. Nordhus consistently invests time in continuing his education, so he can apply the very best of the latest dental advances to his patients. He has attended the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) to learn about cosmetic and restorative dentistry based on whole-mouth harmony. Dr. Nordhus is also trained to place and restore dental implants, so our patients don’t have to see a specialist for implant surgery. In addition, Dr. Nordhus continues to pursue advanced education in neuromuscular dentistry, full mouth restoration, dental lasers, and technology. He earned certification for Invisalign clear braces, Lumineers no-prep veneers, and laser dentistry.
You’ll find that Dr. Nordhusis interested in more than his own education. He's always working to improve his patients' dental knowledge. He takes time to explain the facts, options, and reasons behind every diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Nordhus wants our patients to be informed and capable partners in their own dental health outcomes.
Dr. Nordhus and several of his team members visit local first-grade classrooms during Dental Health Month teaching the kids how to take proper care of their teeth. He also serves as a volunteer dentist for the annual dental screening in a local elementary school, and donates his time by providing dental care for indigent patients referred to him from area agencies. In recognition of National Dental Hygiene Month, Dr. Nordhus sponsors our annual "Candy Buy-Back" program the day after Halloween. Children are encouraged to bring in their trick-or-treating candy, and Dr. Nordhus pays them for it! On average, we collect over 400 pounds of candy annually, and the candy is donated to local charities or sent overseas to our military.
This patient-centered focus is a natural outcome of his faith in God, which reflects in all he does both professionally and personally. Dr. Nordhus is a committed husband and proud father of seven. His professional memberships include:
